Grid Reliability Improved After Engineers Were Temporarily Denied Deployment Access
A six-hour suspension of deployment permissions produced the most stable six hours in company history. Permissions have been restored, along with the instability.
During a routine access review on 28 August, an expired certificate prevented every engineer at Syntax Energy from deploying anything for six hours. In that period, grid stability rose to 100% for the first time since the grid was switched on.
Internal analysis has since confirmed a strong correlation between engineers being able to change production and production changing. The finding has been circulated to leadership as a confidential memo titled Obviously.
Following feedback from engineering, deployment access was restored the same afternoon. Grid stability returned to its customary range within forty minutes.
The company is evaluating a pilot in which deployments are permitted only on days ending in y, with the exception of Fridays, which are now classified as Thursdays.
